Found Object Faces!
Materials
Plate
Recycled items
Food
Art, office, toolbox, or sewing supplies
Utensils, toys, yarn, any other small items - almost anything can work!
Instructions
Find a plate or another large surface to be the head.
Gather materials to create the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, eyebrows, hair or other parts of a face.
Arrange your materials into a face - your face, your friend’s face, a member of your family’s face, a monster face, an animal face! Make your face happy, sad, confused, angry, interested, bored, or excited.
Challenges: Make a face with: only food, only one color, only nature, only supplies that you can reach right now!
Share your face! Send a photo of your favorite face/s to: clarendoncasd@gmail.com.
cool fact
You just created “found object art!” Some of the world’s most influential artists, including Pablo Picasso and Marcel DuChamp, have used discarded items and re-shaped them to create cool, new ways to think about art.
Thanks to artist & Clarendon art partner Cara Goldstein for the idea!
