The Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program at Clarendon Elementary School is getting ready for an evening celebrating Japanese language and culture at our annual Performing Arts Nigh (PAN) on Thursday, Dec. 14th, at 7pm in the school's auditorium.
All the students in JBBP, K through 5th, will go up on stage and sing beautiful Japanese songs chosen by our wonderful music teacher, Ruriko Sensei. There will also be taiko performances and a food sale as a fund-raiser for the 2024 graduation, which has been a long-standing tradition for JBBP.
This year’s PAN will mark the final celebration of the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program’s (JBBP) 50th Anniversary. Therefore, we will be hosting a larger number of VIP’s compared to an average year, including the Consul General of the Japanese Consulate. Please come join us to learn about the incredible story behind the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program and how it was created, and help support this very important program to continue to thrive!

The ticket counter will open in the library at 6pm on the evening of the performance. A maximum of two tickets per adult will be distributed
300 plus seats are available for reserved general seating (first half of the performance only). Tickets are distributed from front seats to back on a “first come first serve” basis
Tickets are free but you need to come to the ticketing table to get them. Distribution starts at 6 pm but the line starts forming much earlier. When auditorium doors open, guests with reserved seat tickets will be allowed in first, then non-ticket holders will be admitted. Non-ticket holders can stand in the back and side of the auditorium.

How can i help?
Please help us make this year's PAN memorable by volunteering for one of our 47 volunteer spots! We need help with auditorium set up and take down, ticketing, VIP seating, helping out backstage, and helping with guest parking.
This year, we are planning on live streaming the performance in the art room, which will be transformed into a VIP Room, so we are looking for volunteers in the VIP Room as well.
questions?
For questions please contact PAN parent volunteers Steve Hall, Michelle Murphy, and Kristen and Rich Shimano at pan@clarendonjbbp.org.
